WŁADYSŁAW RZĄB (1910-1992) “Although he never studied at any Art Academy he is an excellent artist” – these are the words of Professor Aleksander Jackowski describing the unique Władysław Rz±b. The collection presented comprises the artist’s paintings, drawings, etchings, lithographs and sculptures. It is set very strongly in the tradition of the German expressionism and just as original as the collections of artists like Jankiel Adler, Nikifor or Teofil Ociepka. Władysław Rz±b took part in many exhibitions abroad, (for example: Polish Naïve Paintings Exhibition, in Rome, Stuttgart, and Nuremberg 1967) he also had many individual exhibitions in his home town of Zgierz as well as three times in ŁódŒ (in 1961, 1983 and 1977), in 1975 in Piotrków Trybunalski and Radomsko. His works belong to the collections of The Ethnographic Museum in Kraków (Cracow), Museum in Radom, Public Library in Zgierz and many other private collections in Poland and abroad.
