Iwona Woitas-Voy studied at the National High School of Fine Arts (PWSSP) in Gdansk (Poland) and simultaneously at University of Gdansk, later also at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Instytut Sztuki PAN) in Warsaw.
Since 1981 she has been living abroad. First in Paris - where she worked on her artistic workshop, later in Bonn - where she completed PhD studies in the field of Philosophy, Theory of Art and Communication.
She was the General Commissionaire of the exhibitions accompanying the 1st meeting of
"Solidarnosc" in Gdansk. She also worked as a volunteer in the Parisian office of
"Solidarnosc".
Her works were displayed on many exhibitions in: France: Salon d'Art Sacré (Paris, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990), Salon d'Automne (Paris, 1989, 1991), Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture
à l'Eau (Paris, 1990); Austria: Prix Art Eletronica (Linz, 1994);
Switzerland: Europ'ART (Geneva, 2003); Holland: KunstEvent (Eindhoven, 2003);
Belgium: KunstEvent (Antwerp, 2003).
She has also been distinguished for her works in Metz (Robert Vrinat prize, 1990), and during CEBIT annual trade show in Hanover (Germany).
Her poems were published in: Litteraria, Poezje, Kultura, Więź, Studium and in
Bibliothek des deutschsprachigen Gedichtes - Ausgewählte Werke, Band
VI.
Last year a book with her poetry was published in Cracow. |
