Karl
Lucas Honegger was born 1902 in Zurich. He spent his younger years
completing an apprenticeship as Stage Painter at the former city theater (Stadtheater)
of Zurich. He then moved to Berlin to continue his art studies. He lived
there from 1923 till 1944 with short intervals for work in Lebus and
Nauen.
Karl
Lucas Honegger perception of arts was much stronger influenced by the
German school rather than the French school. However the circumstances in
Germany then have hindered a true perception of his art and a just
international recognition.
From
1944 Karl Lucas Honegger was forced to relaunch his artistic work in his
country anew. Initially he lived in Montreux (1945-46), and then moved to
Zollikon in 1946. In 1947 he started his 5 year training as a sculptor in
Zurich.
Karl
Lucas Honegger undertook extensive art traveling to broaden his arts
expertise. Initially he visited European cultural centers, from 1928 on.
Later he went to Argentina, Brazil, China, Finland, Indonesia, Japan,
Canada, Lapplands, Peru and Thailand.
Since
1971, Karl Lucas Honegger works and lives in Kittenmuehle, above the
Herrliberg. Where he, within most beautiful surroundings of his garden,
had created a little empire to his own taste. Every day he is working on
his new artistic endeavors of varying nature. His creations include
portraits, landscapes, religious creations and sculptures.
