Beside
the read room of the library the Polonica collection is issued by Jadwiga
and Jan Nowak (Zdzislaw Jeziorański) made of Washington,
DC. It was made accessible by the owners of the public on request
of the Polish Museum in Rapperswil.
Zdzislaw Jeziorański alias Jan Nowak was
1940-45 soldier of the Polish underground army (A.K.), fighting with the Nazi
German. It worked there in the department for psychological war guidance (action
"N"). Subsequently, the line of the underground army in Warsaw
appointed it as the liaison officer (secret courier) as the Polish government in
the exile (general Sikorski and others) with seat in London. Nowak into its 1978
best-sellers appeared "Courier from Warsaw" describes the 3
extremely dangerous courier journeys between Warsaw and London by Europe
occupied by Nazi Germany. However in Poland the book in underground printing
experienced 7 editions.
